Program of the Tour: • Day 1 Arrival at Verona Airport. Transfer to your Villa .Check-in and get acquainted - welcome reception at the Villa. Your welcoming reception dinner is later this evening at a local traditional restaurant. Overnight. • Day 2 This morning enjoy a breakfast buffet with a variety of baked goods, fruits, cereals, yoghurts… Tour of local vineyards: You will learn how Amarone is made and visit the winery. You will have lunch there and savor the farm’s specialties. 1st Lesson: After lunch a hands-on cooking lesson starts around 2:30pm. For dinner you will dine on your creations accompanied by the finest Italian wines • Day 3 Departure for Padova. Tour of the food market in Piazza Erbe, in the heart of the city. This is one of the region's most colourful and abundant fruit and vegetable markets. Lunch will be at a restaurant in Verona, in the heart of the city. After lunch you will have the option of returning to the villa for some rest and relaxation before class, or stay in town for shopping and sightseeing. Evening: 2nd Lesson • Day 4 Departure from the Villa to visit a traditional rice mill, in operation since 1648. Here you will see how rice for risotto is processed both with modern equipment and with the original wood mortar and pestle system. You will then go into Verona where you will l have a guided tour of the city. Lunch in a typical and ancient restaurant. Evening: 3rd Lesson • Day 5 Today you leave the Veneto to go to the region where Parmigiano-Reggiano is made. You will visit one of the many caseifici where it is produced and aged. You will then proceed to the banks of the Po River to see the production of Culatello, a cured ham that is much more rare and precious than prosciutto. Lunch will be at a famous local restaurant, where you will sample the traditional dishes of the region.You return to the Villa late in the afternoon and dine in a typical restaurant in Verona. • Day 6 Departure from the Villa to visit a frantoio, an olive press of the area. You will learn how olive oil is made and what makes an oil 'extra virgin'. Afterwards you will drive to Sirmione, a jewel of a town on the Lake of Garda. Lunch will be at one of the finest restaurants on the lake and the meal will be based on local lake fish. Evening: 4th Lesson
